BB gun found at Prince George’s County middle school after police search students

Greenbelt, Md. (Reform Sasscer ) —According to WJLA local New channel, AA BB gun was found at Greenbelt Middle School after a student reportedly told his mom someone on his bus had a gun.

The parent called 911 on Thursday morning to report the incident, according to a Prince Georges County Public Schools spokesperson.

Prince George’s County Police pulled the bus over to search everyone on board, but no weapon was found.

The students were moved to another bus and on arrival at school were assembled in a media center for an additional search.

A school spokesperson tells ABC7 a BB gun was found and disciplinary action will be taken.

In the meantime, many students and staff do not respect the top leadership of Dr. Monica Goldson due to ongoing misconduct as reported earlier and other violations. Ever since Dr. Goldson was appointed CEO, there is widespread interference of Federal and State laws to suit her illegal agenda. The unions Executives currently in Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) starting with Prince George’s County Education Association (PGCEA), Association of Supervisory and Administrative School Personnel (ASASP) and ACE-AFSCME Local 2250 have been compromised. This interference might be having an impact on teachers, students and other staff.

However, ever since Dr. Monica Goldson was appointed CEO, there is widespread interference of Federal and State laws to suit her illegal agenda. This interference might be having an impact on teachers and staff. In other words, the role of the Unions in Prince George’s County has becomes meaningless due to personal greed as reported earlier.

It’s a timely reminder that in Monica Goldson’s vision, public service is an amorphous concept. What matters, from the CEO’s perspective, is service to her. Loyalty to the county, state, nation and the rule of law are nice ideas, but CEO Monica Goldson expects and demands fealty to her and her interests – above all other considerations. The entire school district is a very hostile environment due to all cover ups going on.

While the origin of the term “labor racketeering” is obscure, it has come to be associated with a type of corruption perpetrated by union officials under the direction of, or in conjunction with, organized crime. Organized crime bosses exploit unions and union members through alliances with corrupted or intimidated union officials. In return, union officials provide mobsters access to the union treasury, pension and welfare funds, no-show jobs with the union, and support in establishing and enforcing employer cartels. Some organized crime members have held formal union office. In addition, of course, corrupt union officials such as in PGCPS District, whether or not connected to organized crime figures, engage in “ordinary” organizational corruption, such as misappropriation of funds.

In the current set up, Monica Goldson who has past ties to PGCEA and ASASP unions has made the Unions an extension arm of her office as an Executive which is unfair to the workers but that is another story for another day. It’s time to say No to the despots.

Call your local elected representatives and state officials and the media. Demand answers ASAP on PGCPS willful misconduct led by Dr. Monica Goldson, Dr. William Hite Jr.,  Dr. Charlene Dukes, PGCEA, MSEA, AFSCME International and ASASP Union. Tempers soar as NAACP and Prince George’s residents debate high-speed floating train

LANHAM, Md. — According WUSA9, Opponents of an ambitious proposal to build a floating bullet train between D.C. and Baltimore clashed with the NAACP Thursday, as tempers soared at a public meeting to discuss the stunning infrastructure project.

The proposed train would link D.C. and Baltimore in 15 minutes, travelling at a top speed of 311 mph. The vehicle itself is known as an SCMaglev, a train that uses superconducting magnets to levitate four inches off the ground.

“When you look at the future of rail transportation, we are so far behind the rest of the world, and now we have to catch up,” Bob Ross, president of the Prince George’s County branch of the NAACP, said. “There will be plenty of opportunities for minority business to participate, and we won’t be behind the ball with this project.”

While the backers of the SCMaglev and the NAACP outlined a vision of the world’s fastest train constructed over the next 10 years, the aspiration sharply clashed with visions most families in attendance held for their hometowns and neighborhoods.

“It’s disgusting for them to have this train come through our community,” Riverdale resident Loretta Hinton said. “No one asked us if we wanted this train.”

The SCMaglev would feature no stations in Prince George’s County, drawing the ire of residents along the proposed route.

Engineers and project backers said the train’s physics make stopping in the county impossible, since the train would accelerate out of a future station in D.C.’s Mount Vernon Square, and then quickly decelerate.

The project is in its final stages of development, with a decision on whether to build or table the $10 billion proposal expected by the end of 2020.

The design calls for no homes to be demolished, with approximately 30 miles of tunnel and 10 miles of elevated train tracks bordering BW Parkway. Tunnel depths would average 10 stories below ground, with engineers insisting residential foundations would incur no damage.

On or around October 17, 2019, activists through this blog asked PG NAACP through Bob Ross and MD NAACP, Which side they were on, after Neither organization — NAACP PG, nor NAACP MD issued any strong statement of protest about ten police officers who killed Mr Shand in Hyattsville, Maryland.

“This is the question to ask the PG NAACP at its annual meeting Thursday 7-9, in Hyattsville,” one activist wrote in October this year.

“Racial discrimination in the Prince George’s Police Department and Prince George’s County Public schools (PGCPS) is discouraging the reporting of abuse committed by PGPD officers and others tied to the system because Latino and Black officers in the department experience retaliation for speaking out about it, spurring a lawsuit. New leadership in the county must take firm steps to enable full compliance and accountability in the department in order to end abuse of citizens by police,” another county resident stated.

The SCMaglev (superconducting maglev, formerly called the MLU) is a magnetic levitation (maglev) railway system developed by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and the Railway Technical Research Institute. Despite a route through Prince George’s County, there are no planned stations in the county.

New Report: Charter Fraud And Waste Worse Than We Thought

Last March, the Network for Public Education released a report showing that the federal government has lost a billion dollars to charter school waste and fraud. But the organization had not stopped sifting through the data. Their follow-up report, “Still Asleep At The Wheel: How the Federal Charter Schools Program Results in as Pileup of Fraud ands Waste,” reveals that the situation is even worse than shown in the first report, while laying out more state by state details. Particularly striking—the vast amount of money that has been wasted on ghost schools that never served.

NPE is a group co-founded by Diane Ravitch, the Bush-era Assistant Secretary of Education who has since become an outspoken critic of education reform. The organization’s executive director is Carol Burris, a former award-winning New York principal. Burris was the primary author of this report.

The reports examine what happened to money disbursed by the Federal Charter Fund, a charter grant source created in 1994 as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Since 1995, it has handed out almost $4 billion.

Some new findings in this follow-up report:

The original report underestimated the number of charters that had taken federal grant funds and then either closed or never opened at all. That report found 1,000 such charters; the number now appears to be closer to 1,800. That means the failure rate is close to 37% nationally. Michigan gave grants of at least $100,000 to 72 schools that never opened at all; California gave grants to 61 unopened schools. Those two states alone account for over $16 million dollars spent without educating a single child. A grand total of 537 schools never actually opened; tax dollars spent on literally nothing.

Between 1995 and 2005, the Department of Education did not require states to give any accounting of where the money went.

For-profit charters have never been allowed to receive monies from this grant program, but plenty of for-profit charter management companies have had their schools apply successfully. It’s a reminder that “for profit” and “non-profit” are, when it comes to charter schools, a distinction without a difference. Hot Stuff Podunk Academy may well be a non-profit school, but if it is wholly operated by Hot Stuff Academies Charter management Company, a for profit company that handles the operation of the charter, the academy is still generating profits.

The report provides a state-by-state breakdown for some of these numbers, both raw numbers and percentages. Some states have made modest attempts at charter launches, with little success. Hawaii has launched 19; 10 of those have failed. Delaware has seen 14 attempts; 8 of those are defunct. Washington state had 6; of those, only 2 are still open (one charter abruptly closed in October, months after opening).

Larger scale is no promise of better results. New York lost 23 out of 233 charters, but Florida has seen a full third of its 503 charters close. California had a similar rate, with 298 failed charters out of 802. Ohio lost 120 out of 293, and in Tennessee, 59 out of 121— just shy of 50% charter failure rate. Betsy DeVos’s home state of Michigan has a failure rate of 44%— 112 out of 257 closed, costing federal taxpayers about $22 million.

The report also includes many stories that provide striking illustrations of just how the money is wasted. While some charter operators are simply in over their heads, others are clearly far more interested in profit than education.

In Michigan, almost $110,000 was drawn to develop the Harris Academy. $72,957 of that went to a property leasing company whose sole director was Patricia Lewis. Lewis was also a project leader for the academy. Lewis had worked the same deal in Georgia with a charter school that was denied renewal due to financial irregularities and probable cheating on the state test. The Harris Academy never opened.

Consultant Lorilyn Coggins operated two consulting companies that made money from four different ghost schools. She was not the only consultant making good money from charter schools that never actually opened.

The report also provides several examples of how a non-profit charter is simply a pass through for a for profit corporation. For example, the White Hat Management company was an Ohio-based for profit charter management organization that operated sixteen Life Skills charter schools in five different states. Some of those charters paid 97% of their income to White Hat, which also operated a real estate company that leased buildings to schools. Thirteen of the Life Skills charters have ceased operations.

The report also drills down in two charter-heavy (Arizona and Ohio) to see why charters fail. In both states, enrollment was the primary cause (despite the fabled charter waiting list we often hear about) followed by mismanagement/fraud, then financial issues and academic concerns. The study also found a surprising number of charters that closed because the operator simply abandoned them. Stories also illustrate the shock and surprise that occurs when charters simply and suddenly close up shop mid year.

Among the report’s conclusion is this:

We have concluded that the practice of allowing unauthorized schools to receive funds, which has been in effect since 2001, has become a magnet for grifters, consultants and charter entrepreneurs who see an easy way to cash in.

It’s worth remembering that the report only covers the grants dispersed by the feds; this doesn’t tell us anything about how much state or philanthropist money took the school bus ride to nowhere.

Charter supporters are going to say that when charter schools close, that’s just the free market doing its magic to thin out the charter herd to leave us with stronger, better charter schools. Even if this burn and churn is a feature and not a bug, it’s a very expensive feature, costing not just a billion dollars in taxpayer money, but in the human cost of families who are disrupted and displaced by charters that leave them high and dry. As one parent of a student at the hastily-closed Detroit Delta Prep Academy is quoted in the report, “I entrusted her education to a group of people—they’re making me feel like I failed her, like I didn’t do enough research.”

It’s not just research that’s needed; the time is long past for charters to be subject to tighter regulation and accountability with bigger teeth. After twenty-five years of costly waste and fraud, it’s long past time for taxpayers’ dollars and children to get more protection from the operators who have entered the charter school business simply to fleece the public.

Prince George’s County Must say “No” to “Quid Pro Quo” And Goldson Must Resign

Past reports concerning union corruption have pointed out that “it is all too easy for racketeers to control and exploit, in part because there is no effective mechanism for policing internal union affairs. The nomination of Dr. Monica Goldson (seen on the podium second from right) was a major conflict of interest after quid pro quo involving Dr. Charlene Dukes. Largo, (Reform Sasscer) – Prince George’s County citizens continue to confront major hurdles in its struggle against deep-rooted, longstanding corruption with ties to quid pro quo.  Many of the bills, including the famous Kirwan Commission, appear to center on “Quid Pro Quo” due to the past illegal activities with ties to Dr. Monica Goldson and her minions.  We must continue to Say “No” to these “self dealing bills” including the famous Kirwan Commission fronted by the Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Chairman Dr. Alvin Thornton.

Dr. Alvin Thornton’s rapid ascend to power is heavily conflicted due to the union corruption. Monica Goldson makes it hard to invest in equal education for our kids by willful misconduct, money laundering, discrimination, inter alia. It should matter how much money your parents make, or what kind of mortgage they can afford in order to have a high quality education in a safe, clean school after corrupt officials have been removed.

In addition, we must advocate to change the HB1107 law to have an all elected Board due to all the misconduct going on with the current PGCPS CEO, Dr. Monica Goldson. These politicians with ties to each other are more concerned with the optics of #PrinceGeorge’sProud than just addressing the issues. You address the issues and everything else falls into place.

Quid pro quo is a Latin phrase that literally means “something for something,” or “this for that.” We use the phrase to signify an exchange of goods, services, favors, or any other kind of value. When we’re talking about multiple exchanges, we can say quid pro quos.

Misconduct in Office by Dr. William Hite Jr and Monica Goldson

Goldson engaged in well-known misconduct with Dr. William Hite Jr. during Dr. William Hite’s tenure in PGCPS. Goldson left her husband and filed for divorce due to an affair. Confirmed reports say that Dr. Monica Goldson was dating Dr. William Hite Jr when she initiated her divorce proceedings from her husband Mr. Lyndell Goldson on or around 11/03/2008. ( See Case # CAD08-32088 GOLDSON VS GOLDSON). For those who are not familiar with Dr. William Hite Jr, the corruption in Prince George’s County was fueled by him, and this blog initiated a vote of “No confidence.” Consequently, he left the county ASAP due to serious issues he was engaged in. (See Some leaders in PGCPS – Heart of the problems in Schools) Before transferring to Philly, local investigations were partially done on Dr. William Hite and issues covered up. Dr. William Hite promoted Monica Goldson before he left and was pulling the strings from afar in PGCPS for many years and still does. Dr. Hite then jumped ship out of fear of being fired and prosecuted for money laundering, willful neglect of duty inter alia. There was a $10 million bribe scheme tied to Prince George’s County Community College’s President, Dr. Charlene Dukes. Dukes was bribed by Dr. William Hite in order to advance corruption and interfere with the judgment of Josephat Mua.  

Once established in  Philadelphia School District, he has been misusing the district to advance his own personal interest at the expense of the public. Here he has been calling the shots in PGCPS from afar. This kind of willful misconduct does not advance goodwill for the people of Maryland. Prince George’s County citizenry must reject this kind of arrangement and demand proper investigations. In addition, Dr. Monica Goldson should resign as a CEO for Prince George’s County Schools. To many of us, our American political, social, economic entry into structures began with Town Halls where some of us asked several elected officials if they were really committed to getting corporate money out of American political, social, economic contexts and to stop the interference of the officials in the local court system. Several corrupt politicians comfortably stated they will continue the illegal practice including to take corporate PAC money and even admitted the corrupt influence it has.

Many of us refuse to let any politician become so comfortable that they willingly indulge into pay-to-play politics. That is not how democracy works.

Our American political, social, economic frameworks have been corrupted by billionaires and politicians who are beholden to corporate interests. We must continue to bring a new generation of leadership to Maryland, but we can’t without you joining forces in this endeavor.

In the meantime, there are three bills your county delegation are attempting to put forth as legislation that many in the community do not believe will positively help Prince George’s county. Many of these bills appear to advance the “quid pro quos” of various situation and liquor consumption.

The analysis came from the wonderful Tamara Brown, she breaks down three bills that are NOT good for our community. We Thank, Tamara Brown, for sharing this with us.

She writes:

“It’s interesting that my Maryland state representatives have flooded my in-box with invitations to attend their fundraising events, but not a single one of them bothered to inform me/us that they were holding their annual public hearing on pre-filed bills affecting Prince George’s County.  I had to search the House Delegation’s website to review the bills and notify you of the next week’s hearing.

Although I think this responsibility lies with our elected officials (not me), here’s my synopsis of some of the proposed 2020 bills that have been pre-filed:

PG 407-20 Repealing Ethics Reform Laws –  Although Del. Davis’ bill failed in the Senate last year, he is reintroducing the bill this year to allow developers to directly contribute to the campaigns of the County Executive and her slate, including County Council members who have the direct authority to hear and decide all zoning matters.  He wants to repeal the safeguards put in place after the Johnson administration.  Because we need to keep developer money of our local election and continue to support public financing of local candidates,  I OPPOSE this bill again this year.

PG 304-20 Extending Family Entertainment Liquor Licenses to 2 a.m. – When I think of family, I think of all ages, especially those under the legal drinking age of 21.  I’m not so certain how Family Entertainment Liquor Licenses are used, but selling liquor where under aged children are present is already harm enough extending it past the current law’s time of midnight does more harm than good in my opinion.  Therefore, I OPPOSE this bill.  There are other liquor license-related bills that I do support like PG 301-20 that are worth supporting.

PG/MC 101-20 Amendments of Development Applications – Boy, this bill is full of legalese and certainly written by developers’ attorneys and lobbyists.  What arrested my attention is that the developers will be given three (3) times to amend an incomplete application and after the third time if the application is still not complete, the Planning staff must accept the (incomplete) application or act on it in 60 days.  Look, if the application is not correct after three failed attempts, it should be dismissed out right (3 strikes and you’re out).  Geez, I OPPOSE this bill.

CONCLUSION: 

Dr. Monica Goldson, Dr. William Hite Jr., and Dr. Charlene Dukes have been corrupt officials in our school districts for way too long. Their actions and misconducts have consistently proven this. We need to take these people aside and conduct investigations into their actions which include interference of the officials in the local court system.

The American legal court system is supposed to address various grievances without fear or favor and it’s supposed to interpret the laws of the land to reduce the reality or appearance of corruption in American political, social, economic frameworks. In recent years, however, this regulatory regime has lent corruption a legal structure in which to flourish.

Also, any money associated with Kirwan Commission needs to be confiscated until an investigation on the the commission has taken place due to Dr. Alvin Thorton’s dealings with the corrupt union officials and the executive led by Dr. Goldson. These problems have persisted for far too long. It is time for someone to put their foot down and end the bias, blatant racism, discrimination, and corruption. People need to be aware of the public corruption with ties to some corrupt appointed and some elected officials in order to get these corrupt officials out in 2020 and beyond. Every official who has been silent when this poisoned chalice continues in the only majority black county by racist administrators without taking any action, needs to be voted out in 2020. Enough is enough!

State Superintendent of Maryland Schools Dr. Karen B. Salmon is not seeking another four-year contract, the state school board chair announced Tuesday afternoon.

Baltimore, Md. (Reform Sasscer) – Maryland State Schools Superintendent Karen Salmon, who oversaw the introduction of a complex new school accountability system and helped cover up misconduct in Prince George’s County, will step down in June. The state school board chair, (rt. Air Force Brig. Gen. Warner I. Sumpter) announced her resignation, Tuesday afternoon.

Baltimore sun was among the first newspapers to report.  However, details on public corruption in Prince George’s county linked to the Maryland state Board of Education were missing.

Salmon had until Dec. 1 to inform the board whether she would seek another four-year contract when she informed Sumpter that she would leave.

“She did contact me before that date, just decided that she preferred to move on. As far as I know, if she had shown an interest, the board would have voted for her to remain. “She has done a tremendous job,” Sumpter said according to Baltimore sun.

Former state board member Andy Smarick, who served as chair during her tenure, agreed.

“Dr. Salmon is a top-flight administrator — one of the most able public-sector managers I’ve seen,” said Smarick. “She is also a lifelong educator who cares a great deal about kids and public schools.”

However, Smarick’s statement was contradicted by an email cc’d to Dr. Salmon on June 27th, 2019 by Josephat Mua. This email highlighted various aspects of ongoing public corruption involving Dr. Godson and problems in Prince George’s County Public Schools in which the state Superintendent Salmon failed to act. Inadequate Monitoring

Corruption thrives where principals (the rank and file) cannot effectively control their agents (union officers) or hold them accountable. External monitoring of union officers is weak as seen in Prince George’s County. Past reports concerning union corruption have pointed out that “it is all too easy for racketeers to control and exploit, in part because there is no effective mechanism for policing internal union affairs. The Landrum-Griffin Act was passed in an attempt to assure that workers would be represented by democratic unions” (Goldstock et al. 1990, 49).

In the 1980s, congressional hearings surfaced sharp criticism of the Department of Labor’s failure to monitor unions and their pension and welfare funds effectively (Jacobs and Mullin 2003). Because the Department of Labor’s “primary mission is to resolve labor-management problems [,] this necessarily requires good working relations with high-ranking labor officials and makes investigating and enforcing the complaints . . . against top labor officials at best awkward and, at worst, a conflict of interest” (Goldstock et al. 1990, 181).

Career of over 40 years of work in public education

Salmon did not say whether she is retiring, but a statement released from the Maryland State Department of Education said, “This culminates a distinguished career of over 40 years of work in public education.”

The search for a replacement will begin almost immediately with the hiring of a search firm, Sumpter said.

“This is usually the time of the year when most school systems are looking for their superintendents,” he said, “so the quicker you move the better off you are to bring in the largest pool of candidates.”

Salmon, whose job involves helping set education policy for the state, brought some stability to a bureaucracy that had had four superintendents in five years when she arrived in 2016. Before that leadership turnover, Nancy Grasmick held the job for two decades.

Salmon will leave on June 30, 2020, when her contract expires. By state regulations, superintendents in Maryland are all appointed for four-year terms that begin July 1.

When she was hired in 2016, the state was designing a new accountability system that would assign stars to schools. She oversaw the release of the second set of data on Tuesday, hours before the announcement that she would be leaving.

The school board voted unanimously in public to hire the former Talbot County superintendent more than three years ago, however, behind closed doors some board members had reservations. She had years of experience in education on the Eastern Shore before taking a job briefly in New York State. Salmon was an interim deputy state superintendent in Maryland before becoming superintendent. She continued to live in Talbot County, commuting to either Baltimore or a state office in Annapolis for work. In the early stages of her tenure, she worked closely under corrupt previous State Superintendent Dr. Lilian Lowery, who resigned under a cloud of corruption.

One of Salmon’s more controversial decisions came in May 2018 when Salmon blocked the Baltimore County school board’s appointment of Verletta White, a long-time educator in the county as the school’s superintendent. The move was unusual because state superintendents have rarely intervened in a local school board hiring process.

In this case, Salmon said the county had not completed an audit of contracts following the conviction of former superintendent Dallas Dance. White had worked for Dance.

Dr. William Hite Jr fiasco with Monica

However, there appears to have been a double standard when it came to PGCPS CEO Dr. Monica Goldson. Goldson engaged in well-known misconduct with Dr. William Hite Jr. during Dr. William Hite’s tenure in PGCPS. Goldson left her husband and filed for divorce due to an affair. Confirmed reports say that Dr. Monica Goldson was dating Dr. William Hite Jr when she initiated her divorce proceedings from her husband Mr. Lyndell Goldson on or around 11/03/2008. ( See Case # CAD08-32088 GOLDSON VS GOLDSON). For those who are not familiar with Dr. William Hite Jr, the corruption in Prince George’s County was fueled by him, and this blog initiated a vote of “No confidence.” Consequently, he left the county ASAP due to serious issues he was engaged in. (See Some leaders in PGCPS – Heart of the problems in Schools) Before transferring to Philly, local investigations were partially done on Dr. William Hite and issues covered up. Dr. William Hite promoted Monica Goldson before he left and was pulling the strings from afar in PGCPS for many years and still does. Dr. Hite then jumped ship out of fear of being fired and prosecuted for money laundering, willful neglect of duty inter alia. There was a $10 million bribe scheme tied to Prince George’s County Community College’s President, Dr. Charlene Dukes. Dukes was bribed by Dr. William Hite in order to advance corruption and interfere with the judgment of Josephat Mua.  

Once established in  Philadelphia School District, he has been misusing the district to advance his own personal interest at the expense of the public. Here he has been calling the shots in PGCPS from afar. This kind of willful misconduct does not advance goodwill for the people of Maryland. Prince George’s County citizenry must reject this kind of arrangement and demand proper investigations. In addition, Dr. Monica Goldson should resign as a CEO for Prince George’s County Schools.

Ever since Dr. Monica Goldson was appointed PGCPS CEO, there has been widespread interference of Federal and State laws to suit her illegal agenda. However, Dr. Salmon has largely looked the other way despite clear and convincing evidence of willful neglect of duty. The union’s executives currently in Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), Theresa Dudley of Prince George’s County Education Association (PGCEA), Doris Reed of Association of Supervisory and Administrative School Personnel (ASASP), and Mr. James Spears of ACE-AFSCME Local 2250 have been compromised. This interference might be having an impact on parents, teachers, students and other staff in Prince George’s County. Personnel well connected to the executives are well received and covered up by the unions, while others who try to report wrongdoing within the county organization are victimized and fired.

In other words, the role of the Unions in Prince George’s County has become meaningless due to personal greed, as reported earlier. It’s a timely reminder that in Monica Goldson’s vision, public service is an amorphous concept. What matters, from the CEO’s perspective, is service to her. Loyalty to the county, state, nation and the rule of law are nice ideas, but CEO Monica Goldson expects and demands fealty to her and her own interests – above all other considerations. The entire Prince George’s County school district is a very hostile work environment due to all cover ups. Many teachers and administrators are gearing for mass transfers in addition to some taking legal actions to protect themselves due to the effect of the corrupt unions.

Furthermore, the union corruption, which is well known in this county and facilitated by senior administrators such as President Charlene Dukes of Prince George’s County Community college and others connected to her at the Maryland State Board of Education, is not helping with matters. In addition, not surprisingly corrupt union officials, whether or not connected to organized crime figures, engage in “ordinary” organizational corruption, such as misappropriation of funds. The most distinctive form of corruption by union officials is taking employers’ bribes to ignore violations of the collective bargaining contract as happens in PGCPS in many cases, or even to allow employers to operate nonunion. This must end ASAP and the racist management of the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) must be reformed to include minorities in Maryland.

When discussing corruption in the Governor Larry Hogan era, it’s easy to focus on the most flagrant examples such as the real estate fiasco in Prince George’s County. In his statement yesterday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan stated he has been leading the fight for more accountability, pushing to raise academic standards and to root out mismanagement and corruption in local school systems. However, his statement is contradicted by his own administration in which the Maryland Court system is being used to punish teachers, parents, and other staff members who have spoken out against public corruption prevailing in Maryland. Easier to miss is the more innocuous and pedestrian ways that money—especially large sums of it—shapes American political corruption.

The State of Maryland working in conspiracy with Prince George’s County public schools and the county government is involved in a shameful display of shenanigans in which PGCPS and Unions executives have engaged in willful misconduct which is currently being covered up by the state. For example, court judgment orders are being used to shield nominal parties starting with Dr. Monica Goldson, (CEO) Prince George’s County Public Schools, Dr. William R. Hite Jr, Pirre D. Dickson, Synthia J Shillings, Roger Thomas, ACE-AFSCME Local 2250, American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees, (AFSCME). They ought to by law and in equity to be fully bound and obligated to answer charges and crimes in which they committed without being protected through the court by judges whom they are said to be bribing. For example, the order issued by the Maryland Court of Special Appeals in the case brought by Josephat Mua against PGCPS, Dr. Monica Goldson, Dr. William Hite Jr, et al, lists the wrong case No. CAL11369952 instead of CAL1136992. The order issued by the Maryland Court of Special Appeals lists the Board of Education for Prince George’s County as Appellee and not Appellees. The Judgment dated and entered in the above-entitled action on 9th, July 2019 should be amended to include Dr. Monica Goldson and Dr. William Hite Jr. as additional parties who engaged in willful misconduct as Defendants.

This is public corruption driven by the state and Prince George’s County citizens must stand up and demand answers because institutional racism is involved in various agencies within the state.

Willful miscon­duct occurs when a person intentionally acts or fails to act knowing that (his, her) conduct will probably result in injury or damage. Willful misconduct can also occur when “a person acts in so reckless a manner or fails to act in circumstances where an act is clearly required, so as to indicate disregard of (his, her) action or inaction. A party claiming willful misconduct must show an “intentional act of unreasonable character performed in disregard of a known or obvious risk so great as to make it highly probable that harm would result.” The willful misconduct standard is similar to the gross negligence standard; however, it focuses more on the harm that a party’s action or inaction caused.

In addition, the parents and Prince George’s County employees must demand action due to the Union shenanigans currently at play in Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) and illegal interference of the Maryland court system. At the moment, local court systems are hijacked by the cartels and tied to union corruption due to a lack of external monitoring of union officers in Maryland.

The American legal court system is supposed to address various grievances without fear or favor and it’s supposed to interpret the laws of the land to reduce the reality or appearance of corruption in American political, social, economic frameworks. In recent years, however, this regulatory regime has lent corruption a legal structure in which to flourish.

The announcement of Salmon’s departure was made at the state school board meeting in Baltimore. Sumpter said he would like to hire a replacement by April, if possible.

Laurel, Md. (Reform Sasscer) – Ask anyone who has worked in some of America’s failing public schools and nearly all of them will tell you the same thing: The biggest problem isn’t the quality of the teachers. It’s the behavior of the kids: angry, disruptive, and disrespectful kids whose behavior is out of control. This is true not only in the poor schools in the inner cities, but in schools in the largely white rural parts of the US as well. The kids themselves are only partly to blame — students, after all, are what adults make them. The ongoing fiasco at Bladensburg High School is a tip of the iceberg in Prince George’s county. Parents, staff and students must demand answers and the county citizenry must stand in solidarity to create proper reforms.

After our reports earlier this year concerning Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Eisenhower Middle School, reports reaching Reform Sasscer Movement indicate that, the same School is out of control. According to the information received by several sources who did not want to be identified, “kids told the staff they were running the halls because they did it last year and still passed to the next level,” stated one concerned member.

The principal told the teachers recently to address people outside of the classroom before they address him. He is afraid to run the school. There are concerns that new teachers receive little to no support. There are reports that the Instructional Director (ID) has been watching and it’s possible that she knows of the situation but is powerless.

Last month during parent-teacher conferences, the Principal told several staff that they were not permitted to go to the restroom against the union rules. He wanted the teachers to meet with more parents and thought they would leave early. The principal has allegedly turned several staff members away, but one Mrs. Johnson kept walking and went on. She had to go to the bathroom according to the reports received. During the same conferences, a lot of parents were complaining about all the bullying going on at the school.  However, President Theresa Dudley of Prince George’s County Education Association (PGCEA) has failed to respond to many challenges affecting teachers in the county including at Eisenhower Middle School, Bladensburg High School and others due to all conflicts of interests she is engaged in.

Recently a parent complained that she came to the school and saw students twerking on desks. New teachers are not being supported and they want to leave the teaching profession all together because of the lack of support. The principal, Mr. Mangrum, can do better according to the staff members who shared their concerns.

Drug Use at Eisenhower Middle School

Smoking weed in the bathroom is a common occurrence. Parents and teachers smell it when they enter. Many teenagers try marijuana and some use it regularly. Teenage marijuana use is at its highest level in 30 years, and today’s teens are more likely to use marijuana than tobacco. Many states allow recreational use of marijuana in adults ages 21 and over. Recreational marijuana use by children and teenagers is not legal anywhere in the United States. Today’s marijuana plants are grown differently than in the past and can contain two to three times more tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the ingredient that makes people high. The ingredient of the marijuana plant thought to have most medical benefits, cannabidiol (CBD), has not increased and remains at about 1%.

There are many ways people can use marijuana. This can make it harder for parents to watch for use in their child. These include:

  • Smoking the dried plant (buds and flowers) in a rolled cigarette (joint), pipe, or bong
  • Smoking liquid or wax marijuana in an electronic cigarette, also known as vaping
  • Eating “edibles” which are baked goods and candies containing marijuana products
  • Drinking beverages containing marijuana products
  • Using oils and tinctures that can be applied to the skin

Parents and Prevention
Parents can help their children learn about the harmful effects of marijuana use. Talking to your children about marijuana at an early age can help them make better choices and may prevent them from developing a problem with marijuana use later. Begin talking with your child in an honest and open way when they are in late elementary and early middle school. Youth are less likely to try marijuana if they can ask parents for help and know exactly how their parents feel about drug use.
Tips on discussing marijuana with your child:

  • Ask what they have heard about using marijuana. Listen carefully, pay attention, and try not to interrupt. Avoid making negative or angry comments.
  • Offer your child facts about the risks and consequences of smoking marijuana.
  • Ask your child to give examples of the effects of marijuana. This will help you make sure that your child understands what you talked about.
  • If you choose to talk to your child about your own experiences with drugs, be honest about why you used and the pressures that contributed to your use. Be careful not to minimize the dangers of marijuana or other drugs, and be open about any negative experiences you may have had. Given how much stronger marijuana is today, its effect on your child would likely be much different than what you experienced.
  • Explain that research tells us that the brain continues to mature into the 20s. While it is developing, there is greater risk of harm from marijuana use.

Sometimes parents may suspect that their child is already using marijuana. The following are common signs of marijuana use:

  • Acting very silly and out of character for no reason.
  • Using new words and phrases like “sparking up,” “420,” “dabbing,” and “shatter”
  • Having increased irritability.
  • Losing interest in and motivation to do usual activities.
  • Spending time with peers that use marijuana.
  • Having trouble remembering things that just happened.
  • Carrying pipes, lighters, vape pens, or rolling papers.
  • Coming home with red eyes and/or urges to eat outside of usual mealtimes.
  • Stealing money or having money that cannot be accounted for.

Effects of Marijuana
Many teenagers believe that marijuana is safer than alcohol or other drugs. When talking about marijuana with your child, it is helpful to know the myths and the facts. For example, teenagers may say, “it is harmless because it is natural,” “it is not addictive,” or “it does not affect my thinking or my grades.”

However, research shows that marijuana can cause serious problems with learning, feelings, and health.

Short-term use of marijuana can lead to:

  • School difficulties
  • Problems with memory and concentration
  • Increased aggression
  • Car accidents
  • Use of other drugs or alcohol
  • Risky sexual behaviors
  • Worsening of underlying mental health conditions including mood changes and suicidal thinking
  • Increased risk of psychosis
  • Interference with prescribed medication

Regular use of marijuana can lead to significant problems including Cannabis Use Disorder. Signs that your child has developed Cannabis Use Disorder include using marijuana more often than intended, having cravings, or when using interferes with other activities. If someone with Cannabis Use Disorder stops using suddenly, they may suffer from withdrawal symptoms that, while not dangerous, can cause irritability, anxiety, and changes in mood, sleep, and appetite.

Long-term use of marijuana can lead to:

  • Cannabis Use Disorder
  • The same breathing problems as smoking cigarettes (coughing, wheezing, trouble with physical activity, and lung cancer)
  • Decreased motivation or interest which can lead to decline in academic or occupational performance
  • Lower intelligence
  • Mental health problems, such as schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, anger, irritability, moodiness, and risk of suicide

Medical Marijuana
Some teens justify use of marijuana because it is used for medical purposes. Marijuana use with a prescription for a medical reason is called “medical marijuana.” Laws for medical marijuana are rapidly changing and are different from state to state. In some states, children of any age can get medical marijuana if they have a “qualifying medical condition.” There is very limited research supporting use of medical marijuana in children or teens for most conditions. In most states that allow medical marijuana, the marijuana is not regulated and therefore is not checked for ingredients, purity, strength or safety. There is no evidence that medical marijuana is any safer than other marijuana.

Cannabidiol (CBD)
Many parents have questions about CBD and how it may be helpful for their child. There is ongoing research on the use of CBD-containing products for conditions such as epilepsy, , PTSD, Tourette’s disorder, pain, and other diagnoses. For now, the use of CBD is only FDA-approved in children for specific forms of epilepsy and in adults for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting. At this time, there is  not enough evidence to recommend CBD for other uses, in children and adolescents including the treatment of autism and other developmental disorders. The approved CBD requires a prescription. Many stores sell CBD products. However, there are no safety and quality requirements for non-prescription CBD. They may have harmful additives or interfere with prescription medication. If you are considering using CBD for your child, please discuss this with their physician prior to starting to prevent harmful effects.

Conclusion
There are ongoing problems at PGCPS Eisenhower Middle School and other schools in the county in which teachers, parents, and students are affected. This is due to lack of support from the administration of CEO Monica Goldson and lack of professional development which has been stopped until further notice.

Marijuana use in teens can lead to long-term consequences. Teens rarely think they will end up with problems related to marijuana use, so it is important to begin talking about the risks with your child early and continue this discussion over time. Talking with your child about marijuana can help delay the age of first use and help protect their brain. If your child is already using marijuana, try asking questions in an open and curious way as your teen will talk more freely if not feeling judged. If you have concerns about your child’s drug use, talk with your child’s pediatrician or a qualified mental health professional.

Fiasco after PGCPS Bowie High School teacher charged with sexual abuse of former student

BOWIE, Md. (Reform Sasscer) – A Bowie High School teacher has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor in a case involving a teen who used to be his student, according to Prince George’s County police.

K Sean Donovan Jr., 29, of the 3200 block of Winterbourne Drive in Upper Marlboro after the student reported to a family member that she and Donovan were having a sexual relationship.  The reports stated that, the abuse started when the female student was 15, police said.

Law enforcement started investigating Donovan on Sunday after a family member of the girl learned she and Donovan where having intimate physical contact, police said. Donovan and his former student “engaged in sexual contact on school grounds multiple times since May of 2019,” with the most recent incident occurring in late November, police said in a statement announcing the charges.

Donovan has also been charged with third-degree sex offense and other related offenses, police said. A lawyer for Donovan could not be found through online court records, and he could not be immediately reached for comment.

A directory for Bowie High School lists Donovan as a science teacher. He was hired Sept. 17, 2018, and is now on administrative leave, a spokeswoman for Prince George’s County Public Schools said.

A text to the Union President Theresa Dudley for comment on this saga went cold as she was not available on Facebook. The Bowie High School Principal has in the meantime, sent a letter home to the parents of Bowie High School community. (See attached below)

Many Schools in the Prince George’s County and around the country are dangerous places now due to mass shootings, gang fights, teachers fighting students, students fighting teachers, sexual assaults, public corruptions advanced by connected friends of lawmakers and judges and more. Things have changed greatly from the days that many baby boomers sat in school rooms. This is clearly very sad. We have to get back to civility, respect, calmness, and valuing the lives of others. Let’s let schools be cathedrals of learning. Educate to elevate! Read to lead! Learn to earn! God please provide safety for all at the schools!

It starts at home and teachers are supposed to be educators and not parents or baby sitters to young people who are completely out of control at home and in school who threaten to kill them like what we saw at Largo. Modern day parenting produced the millennials and post millennials, many of whom are now in the classrooms. For baby boomers and Generation X, parents have become pals with their children so there is no boundary for fear of losing a relationship with pal who just happens to also be your son or daughter. We are not at all surprised as to what happens in a classroom anymore, according to concerned parents in Prince George’s County.
